Christmas

This year was a little different with Jim being away. Chad spend the beginning of the Christmas week at the Ranch with Grandma and Papa. He got to visit with Santa on Wednsday when Jon was there.

They came back to Beaumont on Thursday and we went to Grandma Betty's house for Christmas eve activities with her, Aunt Janet, Brandon and Jessie. Chad got a skateboard and was excited to try it out. The wind was a little windy but he did attempt a small ride. Here is the video I put together for Jim to see how we spent Christmas.

We got up Christmas morning and Chad opened his presents along with us also. He got a Wii, DS games, Spy Gear, Financial Peace Jr., Funkeys, Santa Buddies (movie), a Camel hide wallet from Daddy, and a Fort/Treehouse. There were lots of little things too. The Fort was installed the Saturday before Christmas by loving friends that came to help Papa get it in the backyard. It is a 5' X 4' wooden structure that is 10' high.

We went to Lake Charles and had lunch with Granny. Later in the day, Chad and I went to see Gran and Popa, Sue and her family. We had Christmas with them, then the girls (Avery and Sophie) spent the night with Chad. Overall, we had a really good Christmas. The only thing missisng was Jim. We were able to talk to him on Christmas day.

Jim is doing good. Right now they are receiving lots of packages from groups sending to troops for the holidays. Last week he received 11 of them addressed to him! Seven were from a friend that works at an elementary school. She had the whole school get involved and send him letters.
If anyone wants to write to him, just email me and I'll get you the address.

We are planning on staying home for New Years Day. Chad has started going to Karate at the YMCA. As soon as he has his Gi and I get some pictures I will post them. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Great 2010!!!!
